What are Power Chats? 💬
Power Chats allow viewers to purchase highlighted chat messages during your live streams. They can choose an amount to contribute and write a message that will stand out in the chat, showing their support for you and your content.
How Power Chats work 🛠️
- During your live stream, viewers can click the Power Chats button to purchase a highlighted message.
- They select a contribution amount (e.g., $2, $5, $10, or custom) and write their message.
- The Power Chats message appears in the chat with special highlighting, more prominent placement, and longer duration based on the contribution amount.
- You receive the Power Chats revenue via your selected payout method.
- After payment processor* fees, 70% goes to the room and 30% goes to Playback.
- *Stripe takes ~3% on web, Apple takes ~30% on iOS (will be reduced 15% starting mid August), Google takes ~15% on Android

Enabling Power Chats 🎚️
If you're part of the Playback Creator Partner program, Power Chats will be automatically enabled for your room. If not, Power Chats will be enabled once your room meets the eligibility requirements. Learn more about the Playback Creator Partner Program here.
Power Chats Global Availability 🌎
We're excited to introduce Power Chats to creators and viewers around the world! During the initial rollout phase Power Chats will be available to creators in all countries, however, only end-users in the following countries will be able to send Power Chats:

Power Chats Currency Handling 💱
If you’re in Argentina or Uruguay, your Power Chats transactions will be automatically converted to USD. All other countries listed above will have their currency used.
We will continue to roll out support for more local currency options in the future. Let us know in the Discord if there’s a currency you would like to see.
